The things I did wrong on the first day:
1) Came early at 8am
2) Came without a laptop
3) Came thinking I would go back at 5pm
Testimonials are to be read anyway. So if you are here super early on your first day, you are not the only one.
To be honest, I did not want to come here for internship for a lot of reasons. Firstly, the office is in KL, a city I still do not envision myself living in even after 8 months. Secondly, I am alone. However, I knew if I took this offer, I will grow beyond my expectations.
This experience is definitely something that will not leave you. You will learn to be independent, resourceful, helpful and patient. Do not worry about your work; there are people around to help you. If you screwed up, do not take it too hard. Fixing it is more important than thinking that you have failed.
I have had a great time here. I met a lot of good people here whom I know I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. When I was able to look past the fact that I will never learn anything to do with my course, I found that I gained skills in other things. Getting clients to agree with you, managing your projects on your own, demanding quotes and dealing with suppliers, all these skills are talents I do not think I will gain working in operator companies.
I would like to thank Faiz, my boss, for taking me in, the guidance, horror, FYFA, and so on. Boss, I am sorry for the times I have failed you. I want you to know that for every project, I tried my very best to win it. And for the rest: Dilla, Izzi, Jannah, Fik, Leroy,Nas and the list goes on, thank you for your help, shoulder to cry on, guidance, jokes, laughter, weird moments, endless work, and favour. You will be in my prayers and thoughts.
